cider pressing

Steve bought this antique cider press at an auction. Forrest contributed a bunch of apples from the orchards at Smithfield Farm, and when Steve and Adri hosted their annual Labor Day Weekend party at Quail Spring Farm, the featured event was cider-pressing.

We all took turns cranking the mill, and then everyone else tossed apples in. Connor and Karyn's kids Hunter and Madison especially enjoyed the fun. Click on any photo for a larger version.
