Raniforest mural 1: Hunt Hall, Room 300
![]() |
This was my dorm room during my freshman year at William and Mary. For some reason, the College provided paint to any student with creative enough leanings to want to paint their room. The only condition was that you paint over it all again at the end of the year. I had two roommates that year: Mike Cole and Nate Harris. Caricatures of all three of us, in safari garb and pith helmets, are in the center-right portion of the mural. I'm the caricature on the far right. I'm also the person sitting on the sofa. That's classic CHKD thrift store furniture! Also note the triple-decker bunk bed at the left of the frame. It's funny to me to see the baggy style of the clothes I wore then. And check out the Chucks on my feet; I wore those sneakers for several years, as I recall. Ahh, the memories. What a pig-sty this room was! You can click on the mural itself for a close-up of the image, but it's still scanned from this same old photo. |
